Industrial Carbon Footprint Calculator
Calculate the tonnes of CO2 equivalent your plant emits per year based on electricity, natural gas and fuel consumption, and the intensity per tonne produced.
How is it calculated?
Industrial carbon footprint is calculated by multiplying the consumption of each energy source by its specific emission factor (kg CO2 equivalent per unit consumed).
- CO2 electricity = kWh consumed × 0.233 kg CO2/kWh (Spain grid mix factor)
- CO2 natural gas = m³ consumed × 2.0 kg CO2/m³
- CO2 diesel/fuel = liters consumed × 2.68 kg CO2/liter
- Carbon intensity = Total CO2 tonnes / Tonnes of product produced
This calculation covers direct emissions (scope 1: gas and fuel) and indirect electricity emissions (scope 2). For a complete GHG Protocol inventory you should also consider scope 3 (supply chain).
