How is it calculated?

The total cost of ownership of an ERP or CMMS in the first year includes licenses, historical data migration, and end-user training.

  • Annual license cost = Number of users × License cost/user/month × 12
  • Migration cost = Migration hours × Consulting hourly rate
  • Training cost = Total training hours × (Consulting hourly rate / 2)
  • Total first-year cost = Licenses + Migration + Training

From the second year onward, the recurring cost typically reduces to just the license cost, unless additional modules or training are contracted.
